COVID-19, also commonly known as coronavirus, is impacting the U of T community dramatically.
On March 13th, U of T had announced that all undergraduate courses would be cancelled from March 13 to April 3. It is also the same day that the total cases of COVID-19 in Canada were raised to a total of 197. It was reported by The Star that:
Ontario, 79 confirmed (five cases resolved)

Since then, situations changed quickly. As I walked passed by Saint George Street today, it seemed like the campus which was usually crowed was now barely empty with only a few pedestrians. Most students had left and gone home since there were no more in-person classes.
However, on Monday of March 17th, the upset news still came through as it was reported by The Varsity which is U of T’s student newspaper:
The Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies told its graduate students and staff on March 15 that one of its students had tested positive for COVID-19.

While the future of the situation remains unclear, there is one simple action that I would take right now and that is how I would advise people: Stay Home!
